Hay
Most of our natural pet hay and bedding comes straight from our farm and nearby areas in the British countryside. We’re proud to keep it local, ensuring your furry friends get the highest quality munchies.
Absolutely! Our hay is dust-extracted, unchopped, and 100% natural – carefully harvested to provide the healthiest options for your pets. However, not all products suit every animal. For example, our Barley Straw is perfect for rabbits but can be too coarse for guinea pigs. Each product page has details to help you choose, or feel free to get in touch for advice.
It depends on their preferences and needs! Timothy Hay and Meadow Hay are favourites for rabbits and guinea pigs, while Alfalfa Hay is ideal for young, nursing, or unwell pets needing extra nutrition. Not sure which to pick? Hay is the hero of your pet’s diet, making up 80-90% of what they need every day. Rabbits and guinea pigs thrive on a pile of hay about the same size as themselves each day – and for guinea pigs, it’s unlimited hay all the way! Degus and chinchillas also need plenty of fresh hay at all times to keep their tummies and teeth happy.
For smaller friends like mice, rats, and hamsters, hay isn’t for munching, but it’s still brilliant for bedding, bathroom spots, or even as a fun hiding place for their food.
To keep things interesting (and your pets eating plenty), we recommend a mix of Timothy Hay and Meadow Hay. A large 2.25kg bag should keep one furry friend happy for about four weeks.
Don’t forget to remove any soiled hay daily and keep their space fresh and clean.
Fresh hay is a must for your pets! We recommend checking and refreshing their hay every day to keep it clean and munch-worthy. Rabbits and guinea pigs should graze through a pile of hay about the same size as their body each day. If you notice they’re not eating enough, try mixing in a new variety – like Timothy Hay or Meadow Hay – to tempt their taste buds with different textures and flavours.
For smaller pets like mice, rats, and hamsters, hay used for bedding or enrichment should also be refreshed regularly to keep their home fresh and cosy. Happy pets always have access to clean, fresh hay!
For young, nursing, or under-the-weather pets, we recommend Alfalfa Hay. It’s rich in protein and calcium, giving them a nutritional boost. Always consult your vet if your pet needs extra care.
Keep your natural pet bedding and feed in a cool, dark place to retain freshness. Our biodegradable packaging protects your hay while being kind to the planet. Stored correctly, hay remains high-quality for up to a year, though its nutritional value may gradually reduce over time.

Just a quick heads-up – we’re a family-run farm, so we don’t process orders over the weekend. If you place your order after midday on a Friday, we’ll get it processed first thing on Monday (or the next working day if it’s a public holiday).
Unfortunately, not at the moment. Currently we only deliver within mainland UK, but get in touch and we can try and find the best delivery cost for you.
Returns & Refunds
We’re here to help! Drop us an email at [email protected], and we’ll get everything sorted. As a family-run business, we might take a little longer to respond outside office hours, but we promise to get back to you as soon as we can. Our office hours are 8:00am-5:00pm Monday to Thursday and 8:00am-1:00pm on Friday.
Subscriptions
Choose your pet’s favourite products, set a schedule (either every month, 2, or 3 months), and enjoy a 10% discount on every delivery. Plus, you can change, pause or cancel your subscription at any time through your account dashboard.
Life changes – and so can your subscription! With your online account dashboard, you can:
- Edit your order: Add or remove items from your next delivery.
- Bring your order forward: Need your next delivery sooner? You can bring it forward to now.
- Pause or cancel anytime: Whether you’re going on holiday or taking a break, you can pause, cancel, or reactivate your subscription at any time.
While you can tweak most details of your subscription on your own via your dashboard, some things need our help. If you need to reschedule your delivery to a specific date, or adjust your Handy or Large Mix & Match orders, just pop us an email at [email protected]
We’re constantly working to improve our subscription, so you might notice updates from time to time. Have a question? We’re always happy to help. Simply email us and we’ll get everything sorted for you.
If you’re making changes or planning to cancel your next subscription order, please do this through your dashboard at least 3 working days before your next payment is due.
