We love seeing how our community uses Nibbley Bits to create easy, everyday enrichment for their small pets. Here are five simple ideas you can try at home, using just hay, a few forage favourites, and things you probably already have lying around.
🌿 1. The Classic Sprinkle
One of the easiest ways to use Nibbley Bits is to simply sprinkle a small handful over your pet’s hay. Try Whole Nettle over Meadow Hay to encourage natural foraging and grazing. It adds scent, texture, and helps boost fibre intake and digestion. A lovely way to freshen up their usual setup.
📦 2. The Tube Box
Grab a few empty toilet rolls or cardboard tubes and stuff them with a mix of Farmer’s Blend, Whole Nettle, Tiny Tidbits, and Dandelion Leaf. Place them all together in a tray or box. Your pet will enjoy rummaging, pulling, and exploring each one to find what’s inside. A great boredom buster.
🌳 3. The Treat Tree
Fix a small branch or wooden structure (safe for pets) to the side of their run or indoor space. Then tie on Willow Sticks and bundles of Flower Forage, Whole Nettle, Dandelion, Farmer’s Blend, and Meadow Hay. Your pet can nibble, pull and explore the different textures. It’s slow-paced fun that’s just the right height.
🥣 4. The Trough Top-Up
If your pet uses a trough or open feeder, mix in Meadow Hay with a sprinkle of Immune Boosters. This combo encourages calm foraging and adds nutritional value to their usual hay routine. It’s also a nice way to offer variety without changing too much.
🪵 5. The Forage Tray
Use a deep tray and create layers of Eco-Nest, Timothy Hay, and Green Oat Hay. Finish with a scatter of Flower Forage across the top. The layers offer different textures and scents, and the deeper setup encourages natural digging and foraging. Great for keeping curious noses busy.
These simple set-ups are a lovely way to introduce enrichment without the faff. Whether you go all out with a treat tree or just sprinkle a bit of forage over their hay, it all supports natural behaviours and gives your pets a bit more to do each day.
